ATLANTA (July 23, 2010) - In November 2008, the National Health Museum selected Carter as its real estate adviser. As part of the assignment, Carter is assisting NHM search for a site in downtown Atlanta for its $250 million attraction.
The National Health Museum, which relocated its headquarters to Atlanta from Washington about a year ago, currently is considering sites near Centennial Olympic Park for the museum, which will be built in three phases. The first phase will take three to four years to complete. We sat down with David Roland, president of the National Health Museum, who provided us with an update of the museum's progress.
Roland says locating the museum at the park makes sense because several "great themed-entertainment venues" already exist there or are in planning stages. These include the Georgia Aquarium and World of Coca-Cola, which are open, and the Center for Human and Civil Rights and the College Football Hall of Fame, both of which have announced plans to locate near the park. "That's a great critical mass of museums and themed-entertainment operations," Roland says.
