Economic development agency to move into Georgia-Pacific Center
ATLANTA (June 22, 2012) –Carter, a leading development, investment and advisory services firm, is assisting Invest Atlanta, the city of Atlanta’s economic development agency, with its upcoming move to a new office in the Georgia-Pacific Center in downtown Atlanta. Carter’s Interiors Group is providing design management and construction oversight services as the 18,701-square-foot office, located on the 29th floor of the tower, is being readied for occupancy. VeenendaalCave is the interior designer.
Invest Atlanta today signed a 13-year lease with GA-MET, a joint venture of Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and Georgia-Pacific LLC that owns the tower. The agency is slated to move into the new office on Nov. 1. Invest Atlanta’s current office is located on Pryor Street, near Underground Atlanta.
Cassidy Turley represented Invest Atlanta in the lease, while Jones Lang LaSalle represented the landlord.
Carter and the other firms have “really worked hard to answer the call of duty to assist Invest Atlanta in its upcoming move to the Georgia-Pacific building,” Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, who is the chairman of Invest Atlanta, during Thursday’s meeting of the agency’s board.
“This a major step for Invest Atlanta,” Reed added.
“It is deeply exciting for us at Carter to be a part of the team helping make this move happen,” said Scott Taylor, president of Carter. “Invest Atlanta’s new headquarters will be a powerful asset in the agency’s economic development efforts, and our Interiors Group will make this high-quality space be all that it can be.”
Nan Loudon, a senior vice president at Carter who oversees the Interiors Group, and Shannon Kitzrow, a project manager with the firm, are working on the Invest Atlanta project.
